MISSION

Devon Opera is a Charitable Incorporated Organization registered with the Charity Commission. Its object is to promote public appreciation and knowledge in the art of opera, and of music in general, in particular by giving public performances and by developing artistic talent (including the education of young people).

HISTORY

The company began life in 2004 as New Devon Opera and produced for the first time in 2005. Performances were in English, supported by an amateur chorus. New Devon Opera continued for several seasons before rebranding as Devon Opera and switching to fully professional performances in the original language.
